This
handle is designed with a slotted opening to give you more flexibility
to arrange feathers in the fan set than drilled handles. All you need to
do is provide the feathers, a little glue, and your personal fan will be
complete! The handle is made from solid Aromatic Red Cedar and has been
sanded to provide a super smooth finish. The finish has been left
natural so you can enjoy the rich cedar smell. These handles can also
have beads and / or leather added to give that additional aesthetically
pleasing look. Would make a great fan for Native American Indian
ceremonies, pow wow or just to enjoy. The styles we have are 6.5 inches
long and 4 inches wide. Slots are 1.5 inch deep. Usually the feathers used
need to have the quill ends cut off to match in the slotted
arrangements, then glued into place. After the feathers are glued into
place, crafters often fill the slot ends with wood filler or epoxy.
